GUILFORD

River-born, Resourceful and Resilient

Guilford Historical Society

Like most towns in Maine, Guilford was born on the river, taking advantage of the natural resource for transportation and power. While river travel is quite limited now, we have held onto our industrial roots and remain, unlike most early settlements, an old fashioned mill-town. Come back with us and share our history in these three segments that relate our story. Visit us here and someday visit us in person when time permits; our arms are open and we welcome all.
